“卓越当代名家版画展”云集了众多名家作品，比较全面地呈现了中国艺术近些年来的重要面貌。通过这次展览，我们不仅能够同时领略到众多名家的风采，如王沂东的写实之美，张晓刚的朦胧之美，丁乙的抽象之美……也能全面清晰地了解中国艺术的众多方向与价值取向。

 

在十九世纪，版画大都用于复制名画，并不当作是一种创作的媒介。直到20世纪，摄影术的发明使版画或绘画不得不由写实走上创新的途径。渐渐的版画也被艺术家肯定为具有很重要的艺术价值，版画的地位也因此而确立。由于版画具有复数性，因此可以用量的增加来降低每一张版画的价格，使得较多数的人们也都可以拥有名家的原作，但仍无损于版画的艺术性。由于这种物美价廉的特性，版画便很快的风靡于欧洲、美国、及日本各地。几乎所有的大师都有版画的创作，如毕加索、米罗、达利等都有各自的版画作品，因此无疑版画是一项值得收藏的艺术品。

“Joyart Contemporary Famous Artists Exhibition”consists of many popular artists’ masterpieces, presenting the importance of Chinese Contemporary Art completely and thoroughly. From this exhibition, we can not only appreciate the different styles of the artists, such as Wang Yidong’s realism, Zhang Xiaogang’s implicitness, and Ding Yi’s abstractness……but also understand the various paths and values in Chinese Contemporary Art comprehensively and vividly. 　

 

In the 19^th Century, block printing was used to duplicate famous artworks; it was not used as a method for creating art. In the 20^th century, after the invention of photography, block printing had found its new role in art distribution. Gradually, block printing became valuable in artists’ eyes, and its status and importance were established. Because of the duplicating function it has, block printing increases the quantity and, in turn, reduces the price for each block print so that more art collectors are able to obtain artists’ original work. However, the artistic value of a block print duplicate is not lessened. Due to the great value block print created, it became popular rapidly in Europe, America, and Japan. Almost every famous artist had used the block printing method to create his or her masterpieces, such as Picasso, Miró, and Dalí. Therefore, block print is undoubtedly valuable and worth collecting.
